Age, stages
and 12 months.
Can your menopause age be predicted?
No form can reliably give the exact age at which an individual will reach menopause. Family history and health factors may be associated with timing, but cannot provide a certain personal date. This tool only calculates calendar time since the date you enter.
At what age does menopause usually happen?
Natural menopause generally happens between 45 and 55 worldwide. This population range is not a prediction for an individual. Period changes and symptoms before 45 may need a separate assessment.
Does being 45 or 50 mean you are menopausal?
Age alone does not establish a stage. Bleeding patterns, symptoms, medicines and other reasons for periods stopping all matter. Two people of the same age can have different experiences.
What does the 12-month definition mean?
Natural menopause is identified retrospectively after 12 months without periods when there is no other physiological or pathological cause or relevant medical intervention. Hormonal contraception, pregnancy, breastfeeding, medicines and some operations can change how bleeding patterns are interpreted. A calendar result is not a diagnosis.
Can a home test confirm the result?
Home urine FSH tests do not confirm menopause on their own. Hormone levels fluctuate, and a result does not establish that pregnancy is no longer possible. Do not change contraception or treatment based on this tool or a single home test.
Sources and method
The calculation uses completed calendar months between your entered date and today on your device, accounting for leap years and month ends. It does not calculate a health score, hormone level or menopause probability.
